Today it is very easy to go online and find advice for any issue you may be facing. There are many articles and books to go through. The first place that is really the best place to look for when you are seeking for advice is the Bible and more specifically the book of Proverbs. There are many life lessons you will learn from just reading this book, here are some lessons I have learned from Proverbs 11.
- It is important to treat everyone equally. I should not treat people in different ways based on their economic status, race or anything else.
- Pride is never a good thing. I learned that I will be humbled in the end. I have learned it is better to admit I have done wrong and be willing to learn from my mistakes and grow.
- Doing the right thing will always be worth it in the end.
- Money is not everything, for example money can not help you recover when you find yourself in the hospital. I have learned not to base my happiness or success on how much money I have.
- A person who is a hypocrite is not to be trusted. I rather hear the truth no matter how hard it is for me.
- I should be careful not to hate people or start fights for no reason. I should be wise and stay shut and just let the small things go.
- I want to be someone who keeps secrets and does not betray someone’s trust.
- I have learned that it is wise to seek opinions from several people that are well grounded before making life changing decisions. I pray to follow this advice more often.
- I should try not to fall into debt.
- I learned that being a graceful woman is honorable and beautiful.
- I have learned that being generous is a good thing and it does come with a reward. On the other hand, being greedy will not end well for me.
- I want to keep sharing the gospel in any way I can and point people to Jesus Christ.
I hope that this has encouraged you today. You can read the previous posts in my series on the book of Proverbs here.
