Today, we can at times get very focused on what gift we got and how good it is or maybe you did not receive any gift. Today I want to remind you that there is a gift that is the greatest gift of all. This gift is salvation, everlasting life through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ chose to come join humanity. He chose to be born like we are. He chose to grow up like we do. He chose to face hard days of pain and hunger and sorrow as we do. He chose to do all this because he left his home in heaven for us all.
Jesus Christ is the son of God but they work as one along with the Holy Spirit. God gave us Jesus to save us. Jesus came to take our place, to take on the punishment that we all deserve as we all sin and none of us are perfect. He went to hell but he did not stay there. God raised him back to life and he is offering a gift of eternal life to you today.
You do not have to be good or turn your life around, you just come as you are. All you have to do is ask Jesus to save you, you admit you are a sinner and need to be saved and he will give you salvation and eternal life from today on. Do not let this gift slip away as we never know how much time we have left.
I wrote this poem reflecting on these things. I hope it will encourage you today.
The Greatest Gift (Original Poem)
You left your place of glory
And stepped into the dark.
All to complete the story,
It’s written from the start.
The greatest gift, such great love.
You brought light to the world.
A true hope sent from above
To save the precious pearls.
A gift now everlasting,
Was purchased with your life.
And then you rose to glory
And now you reign on high.
Help us to receive this gift
While we still have the time.
As we wonder at all this
Work in our hearts and minds.
John 3:16 KJV —
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
