The verse of the month for December is
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 (King James Version)
When the Christmas season begins we can get caught up in the decorations and celebrations and gift exchanges but it is important to remember the real meaning of Christmas.
The Christmas holiday exists to remind us of when this world received the greatest gift of all time.
God sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to join humanity and save us. Jesus Christ chose to obey and leave his home in heaven to join humans on earth. He chose to set aside most of his power as the son of God and chose to experience humanity.
Jesus Christ came to earth through the process of becoming a baby and grew up and he experienced all that we face as humans on this earth from hunger to sorrow and everything in between.
Jesus Christ was sent with a mission to complete and he completed that mission. He was crucified on the cross in the place of each of us. He never sinned and did not deserve any punishment but he took our place so that God punished him instead of us. He defeated death and now the gift of salvation is available to all who will call out to Jesus Christ for salvation. You can not earn salvation, you just have to reach out and grab it before it is too late. You can watch this video to learn how to claim the gift of salvation here.
Jesus Christ is wonderful. He is the son of God and he is the king. He brings healing and joy and will change your life.
Jesus Christ is the best counsellor. When you need guidance on any issue in life just pray.
Jesus Christ is the son of God so this means he is 100% God and 100% man.
Jesus Christ is the son of God the father and he and the father work as one. The love shown here as a father gives his son to save humanity is amazing and indescribable.
Jesus Christ gives peace to any hard situation we can face in this life.
I hope that this verse encourages you this month. I will be reflecting on this verse and will try to memorize it during this month. I hope that this helps us all to keep our focus on Jesus Christ during the Christmas season.
